Born on August 23, 1918 in Peerumedu, Kerala, Meteorologist Anna Mani is known as the 'Meteorological Lady of India'.
While studying in London, she became expert in using weather related equipment. After completing her studies and training, she returned to India in 1948.
In 1976, she retired as the Deputy Director of the Indian Meteorological Department. Anna Mani was greatly influenced by Mahatma Gandhi and his thinking.
In 1987, he was awarded the KR Ramanath Medal. He breathed his last on 16 August 2001 in Thiruvananthapuram, the capital of Kerala.
